Aodh mac Maghnusa Ó Domhnaill
Aodh mac Maghnusa Ó Domhnaill, (Anglicized: Sir Hugh O'Donnell) (died c. 1600), was An Ó Domhnaill (The O'Donnell) and Rí (king) of Tír Chonaill (anglicized Tyrconnell, now known as County Donegal). His second marriage was to Iníon Dubh[1] He abdicated in favour of his eldest son by his second wife, Aodh Ruadh Ó Domhnaill (Anglicized: Red Hugh O'Donnell), in 1592.
Family
From his first marriage, their children were:
- Donnchadh (Scaite) O'Donnell
- Domhnall Dubh O'Donnell (d.1590)
- Ruaidhri O'Donnell (d.1575)
- Siobhán O'Donnell (d. January 1591), married Hugh O'Neill, the Earl of Tyrone in 1574.
- unknown daughter, married a son of Turlough Luineach O'Neill.
His second marriage was to Iníon Dubh[1], daughter of James MacDonald, 6th of Dunnyveg and Agnes Campbell, their children were:
- Nuala Ó Domhnaill, married Niall Garve O'Donnell
- Aodh Ruadh Ó Domhnaill (c. 1572 – 10 September 1602)
- Rudhraighe Ó Domhnaill (c. 1575 – 1 August 1608), married Brigid FitzGerald
- Maghnus Ó Domhnaill
- Mairghead Ó Domhnaill
- Máire Ó Domhnaill (d. 1662), married firstly Sir Donnell Ó Cathain and later Tadgh Ó Ruairc.
- Cathbarr Ó Domhnaill (d. 1608)
